Testimonials

"Now that my company has all gone, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for a very successful weekend. I have received so many compliments for both the barbeque and the wedding. All thanks to all of you! You have made the whole event outstanding and memorable. You are all very professional and efficient. The event went very smoothly because of your expertise. The lodge was the perfect venue!"
- Thanks again, Nadine & Roger Donais (25 June 2011)

"Finally getting around to dropping you a note to tell you all what a great time we had at our daughter's wedding at the Edgewater Lodge in June. All of our guests had a fabulous time thanks to your great crew who took such good care of us during the weekend. The food was amazing and exceeded all expectations. As a matter of fact the whole weekend was over the top. We really appreciate your flexibility at the last minute - moving the ceremony quickly inside due to rain, it worked out perfectly. Luckily the early part of that day was beautiful and sunny so all of us visiting the Whistler area got to see it at it's best. The Adventure Center rehearsal BBQ worked out great. The place was in tip top condition with the lawn all trimmed and the sun was out for that too... that is until that big thunderstorm moved across the lake and forced us all under the covered fire pit (nice!). The folks who rent the kayaks were very accommodating and many of us had the chance to take a spin on the lake before that exciting storm hit. The property there at Edgewater is a really special place and we will have sweet memories of the wedding weekend there for years to come. I would highly recommend your place as a perfect wedding spot!"

"My husband Dave and I got married at the Edgewater on September 6, 2008. We had the most amazing time and have wonderful memories of our wedding weekend at the Edgewater thanks to the overwhelming beauty of the lodge and surrounding area, and the tremendous service you provided us in the months leading up to our wedding and on the actual day. Our guests were blown away by the scenery and still to this day our family and friends are talking about how beautiful our wedding was. We look forward to visiting the lodge every summer when we return to Whistler from Victoria for our annual summer family vacation."
- Emma McWalter

"The Edgewater Lodge Restaurant is always a must on each of our trips to Whistler from Chicago. The food, service and views are the best."
- Margaret Mickey

"My husband Paul and I were married at the Edgewater Lodge April 11th 2008, after being together for 21 years ;-)! We couldn't have chosen a more special place to be married. Amazing views, an intimate dining room and THE very best chocolate cake any of us have ever tasted! We returned last April for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed another gourmet meal. The Edgewater Lodge will always have a special place in our hearts. We never imagined, as we admired the Lodge from across the other side of Green Lake by the float planes, in 2006, that we would end up being married there (we were never going to get married, but Whistler worked its magic!). Since our wedding day we have become residents of BC, living outside of Vancouver, so now we enjoy Whistler all year round! Thanks for the memories Edgewater! We look forward to seeing your makeover and trying out the new Activity Centre."

"Teetering on the edge of Green Lake, each room here makes the most of some awesome water and mountain views through its large picture windows. The restaurant is among the best in the Whistler area, and there's kayaking in the summer or ice-skating when the lake freezes up. It's worth the short drive north of Whistler to the shores of Green Lake and the 12-room Edgewater Lodge, a fantastic retreat for those who like to be close to nature without sacrificing comfort and great dining. Each rustically-cozy one-bedroom suite overlooks the glassy water and looming mountains and it's common to sit in your padded window alcove to watch the ospreys (this is a birder's paradise) and some occasional wandering bears - you'll find yourself sighing contentedly every few minutes. There's also an outdoor hot tub on the shore if you want to nature-watch in style. Peel yourself away for breakfast (included) in the magnificent glass and beam dining room, or plan to be here for a tasty Pacific Northwest dinner. You can cross-country ski or ice-skate here in winter and kayaking and canoeing will keep you occupied in summer."

"Whistler Valley holds a secret most visitors never glimpse: It is magical and magnetic not because of anything manmade, but because of the sheer enormity and beauty of the basin's natural mountain landscape. At the uncomplicated Edgewater Lodge, two miles from the congested bustle of Whistler Village, this is a secret impossible to overlook. The 12-room inn and restaurant perch on a serenely quiet, 45-acre peninsula of land that extends into glacial-fed Green Lake. "The view is like the horn of plenty,".......The single-story, prow-shaped, shorefront lodge opened for business in March 1995. The rooms (either a single room or a bedroom with den and deck) are comfortable but basicÑuntil you climb into bed. From there, every guest can see the long alpenglow on Whistler and Blackcomb, the lights of snowcats tracing the runs at night, moonlight on the water and an occasional train passing on the far shore." The centerpiece of the hotel is its lakeside dining room, with high vaulted ceilings, walls of glass and a dazzling menu."

"The Edgewater, a 12-room lodge that fronts Green Lake is only a ten minute bike ride North of Whistler Village, but feels much more remote."
- Avenues Magazine

"From your room or breakfast terrace you can watch Mergansers diving, floatplanes taking off, and paddlers returning from the River of Golden Dreams."
- Outside Magazine

"The most special place I have ever been... all in all - heaven on earth!"
- David Pearce

"Absolutely Whistler's finest best kept secret"

"Arguably the best in Whistler"
- Bob Howells, Avenues Magazine/Outside Magazine

"We loved our time at the Edgewater."
- David Butwin, Gourmet Magazine

"One of the area's 'best kept secrets', this 'down to earth' lakefront establishment eschews hype and delivers nothing but 'excellent' service, 'imaginative', 'wonderful', continental dishes ('the venison is to die for'), and 'gorgeous views' of the mountains from the 'prettiest location on the water'. P.S. this 'romantic' destination is also No. 1 for Service and Decor in the Whistler Survey"
- Zagat's Restaurant Survey, New York

"There's 'the scene' and then there's 'the scenery'... an entire world away."
- City Food.

The Great Canadian Food Show - Episode 64 - "Apre Ski", 2003 was shot at The Edgewater.

"The Edgewater - A mere three kilometers from Whistler Village. The Edgewater sits on 45 acres of private land along the shores of Green Lake. Simple, European-style woodworking crafted from lumber cut on the property sets the tone for what Manager Jay Symons likes to refer as "no frills" (That, of course, is a matter of interpretation.)"
Linda Hayes, Inside Houston

"Clearly, careful attention was paid to the views. Each of the 12 guest rooms offers its own panoramic look at the lake. Should the ride to Whistler seem just too far, or the idea of Alpine skiing too daunting, consider the options available just outside your door. Cross-country skiing on the extensive valley trail system. Ice skating at the nearby Meadow Park Sports Centre. Or simply strolling by the lake."

"We should have spent the entire 8 days of our trip to Canada at the Edgewater! We enjoyed the scenery which is spectacular, and, moreover, we really enjoyed the staff. By the way, your food was the best we had in Canada!"
- Kalia and Jim Webster, Laguna Niguel, California

"The meal was splendid. We loved it all. Yum! The moonrise over the mountains, the warm atmosphere, we will remember it. Thank you!"
- The Moyers, Washington, D.C.

"The best view, best food, quietest area, best value, hottest hot tub, genuine staff.... Thanks for some relief from the madness of town! "
- Jeff and Robina, Queenstown, New Zealand

"We found our way here by accident, or was it? The atmosphere and the setting were exactly what I wanted and needed. A very special place created by special people it's obvious."
- Thank You from California

"We have seen this place in summer and winter - both seasons are fabulous here! The natural beauty of the wild flowers in the summer is as memorable as the sparkling fluffy fields of the winter. "
